In March 2026, construction workers’ wages in Argentina are governed by the latest collective bargaining agreement signed between the Unión Obrera de la Construcción de la República Argentina (UOCRA) and the employers’ associations of the sector.

The agreement establishes cumulative increases on base salaries as well as the payment of fixed non-remunerative sums, with variations depending on job category and region of the country. It also includes a review clause to monitor economic conditions and evaluate future adjustments.

The agreement determined:

A 2% increase in January 2026 over December 2025 wages.

An additional 1.8% increase in February 2026, calculated on the base salary already updated in January.

These increases are cumulative and apply to all categories covered by Collective Bargaining Agreement No. 76/75.

Hourly Rates in Zone A:
In Zone A — which includes the City of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Province, and most central and northern provinces — the current rates are

  • Oficial especializado: $5.470 per hour
  • Oficial: $4.679 per hour
  • Medio oficial: $4.324 per hour
  • Ayudante: $3.980 per hour
  • Sereno: $723.032 per month

The monthly salary is calculated by multiplying the hourly rate by the number of hours worked during the month. It is important to note that these amounts correspond to the gross salary, meaning before mandatory deductions are applied.

From the total amount, contributions for retirement (pension), health insurance, union dues, and other legally required charges established by law and the current agreement are deducted. Therefore, the final amount the worker receives in hand (net salary) will be lower than the calculated gross amount.

The wage agreement will remain in effect until a new update is signed as part of the collective bargaining process.
